BOPTER – NATS Assessment & Creditisation Portal

The Board of Practical Training for Eastern Region (BOPTER) serves as the central authority for managing apprenticeship, practical training, and skill assessment programs in the Eastern region of India. Operating through the NATS Assessment & Creditisation Portal, BOPTER ensures a structured framework that bridges academic knowledge with industry-ready skills, enabling students to acquire competencies that meet national and regional industry standards.

BOPTER (Eastern Region) oversees the entire lifecycle of apprenticeship and practical training programs, providing governance, standardization, and credit recognition. By doing so, it enhances employability, ensures workforce readiness, and strengthens the region’s skilled talent pool.

BOPTER (Eastern Region) acts as the principal coordinating authority for apprenticeship and practical training, ensuring that students, industries, and educational institutions in the region are effectively linked to create a skilled, employable workforce.

Mission
  • To facilitate the freshly passed out graduates and diploma holders in engineering technology and non- engineering Graduates in general streams for acquiring practical training in Industries / Organizations and thus to make them more employable.
Vision
  • To create skilled technical manpower for the nation by utilising the training facilities available in Industries / Organizations to the maximum possible extent for imparting quality training to the apprentices.
Objectives
  • Bridging the gap in practical and hands-on experience for graduate engineers, diploma holders, and +2 vocational pass-outs beyond their academic curriculum.
  • Establishing effective liaison between industries and technical institutions to enhance the quality of technical education and develop industry-ready human resources.
  • Securing training facilities in both private and public sector organizations for students of technical institutions.
  • Facilitating fair selection and placement of applicants seeking practical training opportunities.
  • Designing and implementing structured training programmes in consultation with industries, institutions, and relevant agencies.
  • Disseminating information on practical training through lectures, seminars, films, and other communication channels.
  • Awarding certificates to candidates who successfully complete their training courses.
  • Enhancing technical competency and boosting the confidence of qualified youth to improve their employability.
